I've worked in engineering and manufacturing since the mid 1980s, my early positions being engineering design, development and testing roles in petrochemical and automotive industries. I then moved into the architectural industry, where I ran development for a hardware business and national product management for 

a German multinational. I then set up a skunkworks within a building controls business, researching and developing a cutting edge window automation product.

I've sat on multiple industry committees including the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and have helping author published standards and peer-reviewed research papers.
